How to turn all purpose flour into cake flour. Good to know! 🙂
It never fails that when you are under a time crunch and have to whip together a cake or cupcakes at the last minute, you find you’re out of cake flour. What can you do if there isn’t enough time to drop what you are doing and go purchase some? Take some all-purpose flour and make your own cake flour. The only real difference between the two is that cake four contains more protein. It’s what makes the finished cake products so much heavier and dense than bread. Now you can quit feeling stressed.
Here’s What You Need:
Flour
Cornstarch
Here’s What You Do:
1)Â Â Â Â Â Measure out the exact amount of flour you need for the cake recipe and add it to a large mixing bowl.
2)     Measure out and add 2 tbs. of cornstarch for ever ¾-cup of flour needed for the cake. Mix it well and add the remaining ingredients as you would normally.
You can mix up flour and cornstarch and save it in a large storage container if you wish. The real trick to this is to make sure the two are mixed well. Mix it up in small batches and add several to a large container.
