Clean your silver jewelry and serving pieces with a cool homemade solution of salt and baking soda!
Is your jewelry or silverware looking a little dull and dingy? There are a lot of cleaners on the market that will do the job, but they can cost a fortune. Here’s a little known trick to get them clean using simple ingredients you have at home. It will save money, effort and give excellent results in a short amount of time.
What You Need:
1-tsp. baking soda
What You Do:
1) Gather up all the jewelry and silverware you wish to clean.
2) Mix the salt and baking soda into the water. (Double the batch if you are cleaning silverware so that they can lie flat in a plastic container and be covered by the liquid mixture)
3) Place the jewelry and silverware into the mixture a few pieces at a time. Let it soak for about 5 minutes.
4) Rinse with clear water.
5) Dry and buff each piece with a soft cloth.
This mixture is safe to use with all natural stones. Add 1/2 –tsp. of dish washing liquid if pieces are really dirty. It will help remove built-up dirt and grime. Everything should sparkle!
