Do you have a large collection of ribbons that you use for craft projects, wrapping presents, or even to tie in your daughter’s hair? Do you typically have to search for a spool of ribbon only to realize that part of the ribbon has come off the spool and has ruined the junk-drawer? Repurpose your shoe box as a ribbon organizer.
Here’s how you do this:
- Place your ribbon spools in the shoe box so that when you pull on the ribbon it will easily roll off the spool. Make sure to place enough ribbon spools in the box so that the entire box is lined with ribbon spools (just like in the photograph.)
- Using a ruler and pencil, mark a dot on the outside of the shoe box where the ribbon will come out of the box. Make sure all the dots you mark using your pencil are symmetrically aligned with one another.
- Using a hole puncher, cut out the dots you marked in the previous step. Make sure the hole puncher is large enough to accommodate the size of ribbon you have.
- Gently pull a little bit of ribbon out of each hole in the front of the shoe box.
