Little Binding Trick by maureencracknell, via Flickr ~ Are you looking for a way to improve your quilting skills? Then look no further! Here’s a little binding trick that will get you through the day.
Binding is an important part to your project. When trying to decide on a width, go with what you prefer and what you feel will look best on your quilt. Once this has been determined, you will have to make sure you cut enough material to go ALL the way around your piece. Remember, you can always cut excess away and this will create a cleaner look than patching together small pieces in order to finish off your binding.
Ironing is important to. This will help hold the binding together once you have folded it over. Don’t be afraid to use a little steam to make sure the ironing sets. This will especially come in handy if you have decided to go with a binding that is in strips of less than 2 1/2 inches. When you use strips that are less than that measurement, it can be difficult to fold precisely. Folding small sections at a time and then ironing as you go will help with accuracy.
