Bleach gel is a great thing to have around the house, but what if you forgot to buy it? Not to mention, it can be rather expensive. Here’s a way to make some with some basic household items that most of us have hanging around. It’s just as effective for stain treatment and removal as any of the name brand items on the shelves of stores. Follow the directions below to safely make a bleach gel:
What you need:
¾ cup water
3 Tbsp corn starch
4-7 Tbsp household bleach
Saucepan
Spoon
Stovetop
Container, such as old glue bottle to pour it into
Instructions
Mix the water and corn starch together in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil, and stir it continuously until it becomes translucent and like an opaque glaze. Let it cool, but don’t let it dry out. Add bleach by the Tbsp to get the consistency and strength needed. You can increase the batch if you need more. Make sure that it has cooled before adding the bleach. Pour the contents into a closable squeeze container, such as an old glue or mustard bottle.
