Ladies, how many of us use elastic hair ties on a daily basis but constantly end up losing them? We spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars every single year on hair ties for ourselves and our daughters. How many times have you gone to a store only to find that have the same hair tie over and over? Alternatively, maybe you want to make a hair tie for a special occasion or in certain colors that you simply can’t find anywhere else.
Making your own elastic hair ties is extremely inexpensive and easy. The possibilities are endless, and the colors and patterns are magnificent when you make them yourself.
If you really want to go crazy, you can make 80 hair bands out of 20 yards of elastic!
1) Purchase your elastic. Get a variety of colors and even glitter elastic.
2) Wrap elastic around your wrist and leave about 1 inch extra, then cut. To avoid the elastic from fraying you want to use a very sharp pair of scissors and cut it at a slight angle.
3) Tying the elastic is simple! Hold the two ends of the elastic together and then wrap them around one finger, while doing this pull the two ends through the loop.
That’s it; you have now made your first elastic hair band!
