Just about everyone enjoys oatmeal for breakfast, right? But, what you do with your empty oatmeal boxes that you typically throw away. Let’s face it, who has ample storage and couldn’t use a little extra storage in their home or apartment. Why not save your empty oatmeal boxes to create decorative storage.
Along with many people eating oatmeal, probably more people read books and have books lying about their home that they have read once and will never pick up again. It’s time to repurpose those books!
So how do you create these cute storage containers?
Start by making sure your oatmeal box is clean and free of any food. Gather your books and rip pages out of them (yes, book lovers I said to rip pages out.) Once you have enough pages from a book, cut them up into a variety of different sizes.
Glue the pieces of the book pages on the lid of the empty oatmeal container. Once you have completely covered the oatmeal lid, set it aside to allow the glue to dry.
Glue the pieces of the book pages around the entire base of the oatmeal container making sure to cover every single piece. Glue a button on the front of the oatmeal container for an added decoration. Allow all glue to dry before using.
