Doors as rolling room dividers – Ever find yourself with a bunch of old doors just hanging around with nothing to do? Put them to work in a very neat way! A little bright paint, coaster wheels and hinges creates the most unique room dividers made. To buy a nice set of dividers cost a lot of money. By using doors you already have, the few remaining materials make this a project you can’t afford to pass up. Follow the steps below to make them yourself:
What you need:
3 old doors, the center one needs to be reversible with the hinge holes on both edges.
3 colorful enamel paints
paintbrush
4 door hinges and necessary screws
4 coaster wheels (you can find these at all home improvement centers)
1) Use the paints to coat each door a different color. You can use the same color scheme on both sides, or mix and match to your liking. Let them dry for 24-hours.
2) Hang the doors together using the hinges and screws. The center door should have hinge attachment holes on both edges.
3) Lean the doors enough to drill two holes for wheel coasters on the front door and two holes for the wheel coasters on the back door. The wheels will slide in and you can put the doors upright.
4) Use the knobs on each end to roll the room divider wherever you wish.
